Submissions: A Sense of Place

Submission enquiries BY EMAIL ONLY to the editor, Sharon Blackie, at info[at]earthlines[dot]org[dot]uk. We're sorry but we're unable to discuss submission ideas by telephone.

In each issue of the magazine we will publish a couple of very short pieces of writing about specific places. We’re looking not just for descriptions of such places, but for writing about why they affected you – how they changed the way you looked at the world, or helped you to understand something about your own relationship with the natural world. We’re looking for the apparently mundane as well as the more obviously dramatic; town and urban as well as rural and wilderness locations. Contributions should be no more than 360 words long – prose only. You may send a photograph or artwork to accompany your contribution but please no more than a couple of images per piece and keep them small! (If your contribution is selected for the magazine and we need a higher resolution image, we’ll get back to you.) Please include your full contact details and email your contribution (either as a Microsoft Word document, or in the body of an email) to info[at]earthlines[dot]org[dot]uk.
